Dislocated Workers and Displaced Homemakers

Asian Woman Carrying GroceriesYou may be a Dislocated Worker if you have been permanently laid off, or have received a notice of termination or layoff from your employer. You may be a Displaced Homemaker if you have been providing unpaid services to family members in the home, or have been dependent on another family member's income, but are no longer supported by that income, or are unemployed or underemployed and having difficulty obtaining or upgrading employment. Middle Georgia Consortium's Dislocated Workers/Displaced Homemakers Program, funded under the Workforce Investment Act can help you get back to work!

The Dislocated Workers/Displaced Homemakers Program provides training and re-employment services designed to assist you in returning to work as soon as possible. This assistance may be in the form of training and/or job search assistance.

What Kinds of Training are Available?

There are two main categories of training: classroom and on-the-job training (OJT). If you meet our eligibility criteria one of our Case Managers will work with you to explore your options and arrive at a plan that is best for your future employment.
