Georgia Work Ready - Elevate America

Georgia Work Ready is not only validating and providing tools to improve the core work skills of Georgia's workforce, but also assisting in improving computer literacy across Georgia. Now, Georgia Work Ready is working with Microsoft to help citizens improve their technology skills though Microsoft® Elevate America. This unique program provides free vouchers for online computer training and certification for everything from basic technology literacy to intermediate and advanced-level technology skills training.

Georgians can apply for a free Microsoft E-Learning Voucher by visiting http://www.gaworkready.org or visiting a WIA One Stop Center. These vouchers are available to all Georgians and must be distributed and accessed by April 22, 2010.

Courses available include:

  • Microsoft E-Learning Vouchers Information Worker (Office 2003 OR Window Vista & Office 2007)
  • Microsoft E-Learning: IT Professional Standard and Extended Library
  • Microsoft Business Certification Exams Office 2003
  • Microsoft Business Certification Exams Office 2007

The E-Learning vouchers provide access to self-guided online training. To ensure success with the Microsoft E-Learning tools, Georgians should have at least a basic level of computer proficiency and access to an Internet-connected computer.

Instructor-guided tutoring may be available through participating Goodwill Centers and WIA One Stop Centers may have additional support services such as computer accessibility.
